Biography

Born in Munich in 1990 to a family with German-Romanian roots from the Banat region, Manuel Köhler trained as a car mechatronics technician before turning to acting. He graduated from the Akademie für Darstellende Kunst Bayern in 2020, with a focus on dialect acting and camera acting, and went on to complete a ten-week course in dubbing at Yellow Dubmarine in Munich.

Nineteen stage productions – from Schiller’s Kabale und Liebe and Gorky’s The Lower Depths at Akademietheater Regensburg to A Streetcar Named Desire at Team Theater München and Beauty and the Beast at Schlosstheater Celle – form the foundation. Screen work followed: feature films, television for ZDF, ARD, Sat.1 and RTL II, international commercials, and dubbing for Disney+, Amazon Prime, Netflix and Pokémon.

The shaved head and full beard suggest the villain. The comedy reel suggests otherwise. In 2026 he can be seen in the feature films Über Menschen (dir. Anno Saul) and Unter Erfolg (dir. Jan Noack).
